It all started with a sweltering canoe trip down the Mohican River. Nearly a year later, that adventure has become the River D.J. peach radler. Brewers from New Berlin, Four Paws/Red Wagon Brewing, Sixth Sense, and Phoenix Brewing gathered this past Monday to brew the collaboration releasing in August.

“That afternoon was a lot like the brew day on Monday,” recalled Carmone Macfarlane, about the team-building canoe trip between OCBA board members.“ It was hot and muggy and a fun group to be around. One person stepped up with music to keep us entertained and motivated and was dubbed the River DJ. It just sounded like a great summer beer name.”

The idea stuck. Over the following months, they refined the recipe and scheduled a brew day.

The collaboration also shines a light on the Ohio Craft Brewers Association and its Ohio On Tap passport, which connects visitors with more than 450 breweries, cideries, and meaderies across the state. Participants collect digital stamps, earn prizes, and have three years to complete the trail.

“Collaborations are beneficial to the industry. It’s a sharing of ideas and inspiration that we can take back to our own breweries, and that extends to our communities. We hope that the River DJ introduces people to other breweries, the OCBA, and the Ohio on Tap App.”  

The River DJ Peach Radler embraces summer with big, juicy peach flavor in a light and refreshing ale. Brewed with pilsner malt, oats, a hint of wheat, and kissed with peachy aromas from Dolcita hops.  While each brewery will be releasing it on their own schedule, Phoenix plans to release it on draft and in cans starting August 12, 2026. Guests who attend the releases can earn bonus stamps in their Ohio On Tap app, even if they have already had their passport stamped at the Phoenix.
